Ante TIMMERMAN

Born in 1976 in Ninove (Belgium), Ante Timmerman is one of the most active figures on the contemporary drawing scene, noted for the simplicity of his techniques and his use of outdated devices for his installations (record player, overhead projector, etc.). The majority of his works are done in pencil, in black and white. As an informed observer of our times, he reflects on the relationship between nature and culture, and develops a work representing the modern city, seen as a ghostly city, a landscape of countless skyscrapers, a no man's land with dizzying perspectives. At once poetic, ironic and disillusioned, his work is also a reflection on the importance of language and text in our lives.
